I’m not a huge shorts fan, so summer dressing normally means burning up in jeans or dresses for me. Hence my Clad & Cloth post the other week. Dresses for summer? Groundbreaking. I’m a real innovator over here. The one thing I hate about dresses is having to actively try not to flash people. That’s why I love maxi dresses — accidental flashing is super hard, so I can manspread my heart out.

I got this ruffled blue maxi dress in advance of my Barcelona trip because it felt like the perfect dress for flamenco dancing … which I didn’t end up doing. I love how it hits right at my ankle, so I didn’t have to get it hemmed. I also love the fit and color. Basically, I just love this dress.

And the best thing about maxi dresses? They’re easy to wear in the spring and fall too when the weather is a bit chilly. Boom, transitional styling like a pro.
