Happy Monday, beautiful people! We’re less than two weeks away from Christmas, but I have an early gift for you today …. a little chit chat with Emily Fanning of shell chic’d. Emily is the sweetest gal you’ll ever meet, plus she’s a bunch of fun at blogger events. I love her sense of style and humor and it’s been great to get to know her more. Enjoy reading!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BLOGGING AND WHAT MADE YOU START?

Over five years. Where has the time gone?! The free perks. JK jk. I had recently graduated from college and was a couple months into my first real 9-5, where my responsibilities included maintaining and writing for our company food blog. I enjoyed it well enough, but I was craving sequined shoes and printed shift dresses over deviled eggs and paleo desserts, so I started my own creative outlet on the side. It also gave me the opportunity to improve my writing, learn the WordPress platform, and spend extra time Googling my way through learning HTML and Photoshop. Star employee, amirite?

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT shell chic’d

I tag line my little space of the internet “New England life & style.” I write about where I’m traveling, what I’m wearing, who I’m admiring, what I’m eating, and other Boston- and New England-based events and businesses on my mind!

WHO IS YOUR BLOGGER CRUSH?

Sydney of The Day Book. Pretty sure she is the only blogger I would actually fan girl over. I’ve also recently been crushing on Beth and Danielle of Palm Beach Lately because serious #sistergoals.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE POST YOU’VE EVER WRITTEN?

So many of my posts are glitter-covered. They’re light-hearted and curated and are supposed to serve as a silly little escape from the real world. But more than once I’ve strayed from writing about pastel coats and Kate Spade sales to share a bit about my experience with epilepsy. I first opened up about my condition three years ago, and it’s still my favorite “outfit post” to date. {Except wow thank God our photography has improved a little since then!}

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM BRAND TO COLLABORATE WITH?

BHLDN. I know I already had my big day as a bride, but can you blame me for wanting an excuse to put on another of their gorgeous dresses? Sent from heaven y’all.
